Warning: I thought those cheap faucet repair kits were a total scam
My kitchen faucet was dripping for weeks and I almost called a plumber. I finally grabbed a $12 generic kit from the hardware store, thinking it would be junk. After watching a video and spending about an hour, I swapped the cartridge and the drip stopped cold. Has anyone else been shocked when a simple fix actually worked?

My uncle was a maintenance supervisor for a city housing authority. He always said 80 percent of their plumbing calls were just worn washers or cartridges. People would call in a panic about a flood, and he'd show up with a ten cent rubber ring. It makes you realize how most fixtures are designed to be fixed, not replaced. That drip is basically a built in warning system telling you to open it up.

Yeah that "ten cent rubber ring" line really hits home. I mean it's wild how the simplest fix is usually the answer.
