Serious question, has anyone else's water heater anode rod snapped during a flush?
Mine broke off inside the tank last month, and I had to drain the whole thing to get the piece out with a magnet. What's the best way to avoid this next time?

Ugh, that's the worst! Honestly, just replace the rod more often. They get brittle.

Disagree, mine last years if you treat them right.

Wait, you got it out with a magnet? That's wild, I didn't think that would even work.
