Appreciation post: my leaky faucet was just a worn-out O-ring the whole time
Found a plumbing diagram online that said 90% of drips are from that 50 cent part, not the whole cartridge. Anyone know a good source for a variety pack of those little rubber rings?

Used to replace whole cartridges for years before I figured that out... cost people a fortune in parts and labor for no reason. The supply house by me sells a little kit with all the common sizes, fits in your pocket. Makes those service calls way faster now.

Guess the supply houses weren't in a hurry to share that little trick.

Isn't it crazy how many things are like that? So much basic knowledge gets treated like a trade secret just to keep you buying more stuff. I see it with appliance parts, printer ink, even the little filters for my coffee maker. It feels like the whole system is built on you not knowing the simple fix.
