Warning: A customer's fence plan threatens a nesting area on their property.
Do we build it for them or say no to save the birds?

Casey's "full stop" is right but in my experience showing beats telling. I pull the client over, point at the nest, and say look, your fence can wait eight weeks but these birds get one shot. Once they see the actual babies moving around, most people get it. It turns a no into a shared plan instead of a fight.

Absolutely say NO, full stop. Found an active robin's nest tucked behind a client's siding last month and refused service until the fledglings were gone. Some things are just more IMPORTANT than a job or a fence. You NEVER mess with a nesting site.

Had a client's blue jay nest in the exact post location last spring. Told them the fence was on hold until graduation day. Their face was priceless when I explained the blue jay freshman class needed to finish their semester first.
