Thought those new composite posts were just overpriced junk

Had a client in Tampa who insisted on them for a whole backyard fence, even after I showed him the price tag. After putting up 200 feet of it last fall, I have to admit the stuff hasn't warped or faded a bit, even with the sun and rain. Anyone else been forced into using a material they hated that actually worked out?

I put in about 150 feet of that vinyl decking for a picky homeowner in Jacksonville, thought it was a total scam. Three years later, it still looks brand new, no staining or cracks. @theawest is right, the upfront sting is nothing compared to the headache of a tear-out and redo. I was wrong to doubt it.

See, that's the thing I've noticed. People get hung up on the initial cost and write it off as a gimmick. I've seen too many cheap materials fail after a couple seasons to ignore something that actually holds up. Sometimes paying more upfront just means you're not paying again later to replace it all.

Honestly, that upfront cost still hurts when cheaper stuff works fine for years too.
