Tried sewing with thrifted bedsheets for a jacket draft

Picked up a queen size floral sheet set for 8 bucks and used it for a bomber jacket mockup. The cotton was so soft and broken in, it draped way better than any stiff muslin I've used before. Has anyone else experimented with non-fabric materials for patterns?

Honestly it's just bedsheets. You're making a jacket draft not a couture gown. Thrifted sheets have been a sewing hack for decades it's not groundbreaking. The drape difference is just because old cotton is more worn in than new muslin. Almost any soft old fabric would do the same thing. I've seen people use old curtains and tablecloths too it's really not that deep.

Exactly, I found a duvet cover once that worked perfect for a mock-up.
