TIL a simple comment about my jacket seams changed how I draft patterns
I was at a local sew-along meetup in Portland last month, and someone pointed out my jacket shoulders puckered around the armhole. They said I was using too much ease in a woven fabric, like 1.5 inches when I should aim for 0.5 inches max. I went home and redrafted that part, and the fit got way cleaner on the second try. Now I keep a list of ease amounts for different fabrics taped to my sewing desk. Has anyone else had a tiny fix from a stranger totally shift how you approach a pattern piece?

Oh man, I gotta gently push back on that a bit @harper_wright. The tip you're talking about works fine for smaller setups, but it can cause some real headaches if you've got a bigger system or a lot of devices fighting for the same connection. I tried that trick myself a few years back on my home network and ended up with this weird lag that took me forever to track down. It turned out the whole setup was just fighting itself because of the way I had things chained together. For most people it's totally fine, but if you're like me and you've got a bunch of smart stuff running, maybe just double check that it's not gonna bottleneck everything before you lock it in.
