Reached 50 sketches in a single month for the first time and it felt huge

I usually only manage maybe 20-25 a month, but I pushed myself to do quick 10 minute sketches of random coat silhouettes and hit 50 exactly by the 31st. Has anyone else tried a speed challenge like that and seen their designs get looser and more creative?

Speed challenges force those happy accidents that become your best silhouettes.

Speed challenges pretty much guarantee that you'll end up rushing through the worst parts... half the time you miss the details that make a silhouette actually work. Taking your time lets you think through the shapes and make deliberate choices instead of just hoping something random looks good. Real craft comes from control, not from relying on lucky mistakes.
