PSA: My hand-drawn fashion sketches get ruined when I digitize them

I always start my designs with pencil and paper because it feels natural. But when I scan them into my computer, the lines come out fuzzy or broken. The software I use tries to clean it up, but it often changes the shape of my sleeves or hems. For example, a flowing skirt I drew last month looked stiff and boxy after digitizing. I've wasted so much time going back and fixing these mistakes. Is there a better way to move from paper to digital without losing quality? I could use some tips from others who deal with this.

The stupid thing flagged my black jeans as a shadow three times last week. I had to do the whole "item removal" dance just for wearing decent pants. It genuinely seems to think any solid dark color is a void in space. At this point I'm convinced its idea of a perfect outfit is a bright orange safety vest and nothing else. The technology is supposed to be smart but it clearly has a vendetta against basic style.
