I finally figured out why my draped necklines kept collapsing after one wear

Last week I realized I was using the wrong grain on my bias cuts for a silk dress, and the whole thing sagged by the second time I put it on. Has anyone found a fix for keeping drape structure without adding heavy interfacing?

Stabilizing the cross grain with a lightweight fusible tape solved that exact problem for me.

Cross grain"? Is that a real term or did you just make that up?

The first time I tried fusible tape on a silk charmeuse collar it was like magic. That tape saved me from having to rip out and redo the whole neckline. It really is one of those little tricks that makes a huge difference.
