Hot take: I saw a designer's work go from basic to amazing in about 8 months and I think I know why
There's this designer I follow online, and her stuff used to be pretty simple, like basic t-shirt dresses and stuff. But over the last year, her new collection looks totally different. The shapes are way more interesting, with folds and drapes I've never seen her do before. I looked back and the big change seemed to happen right after she posted about taking a 6-week intensive course on fabric manipulation. She started using techniques like smocking and pleating by hand, which she said she learned there. Now her pieces have this crazy texture and movement that just wasn't there before. Has anyone else seen a skill or class make that big of a jump for someone's work?

Nah, that's just correlation. Her style probably changed cause she got bored of the old stuff, not some class. People evolve their work all the time without a single reason.
