From my design job, remote work killed our creative spark

Many designers today prefer working from home, but I disagree. In my last role, we moved to full remote work. Our team used to sketch together in the studio, which led to bold ideas. Now, video calls make feedback slow and safe. Our latest line was called boring by critics. I think being in the same room helps us take risks. That is how real innovation happens in fashion.

Seriously, this hits home for me. I've seen the same thing happen in my own field, where online meetings just don't spark the same energy as being together. It's like how texting a friend feels different from talking face to face, you lose the little moments that lead to big ideas. I notice this in how people plan events or even make decisions in groups now, everything is so planned and safe. That lack of random chat or quick sketches kills the fun and the risk. Do you think some jobs just need that in person buzz to really work?

Not sure it's that serious, maybe your team just needs better ways to mix things up online. @gray_ramirez has a point about texting versus talking, but that doesn't mean good ideas can't happen remotely.

Feel the same way about losing that spontaneous energy online. Our team meetings feel so planned now, like we're just ticking boxes instead of having real talks. Maybe some fields just need that physical space to bounce ideas around properly?
