Cutting this silk feels like a losing battle.

Every cut I make just unravels more.

But what if the silk is just bad quality? Derek_ramirez says to use sharp tools, but I've had stuff fall apart with the best shears. Some fabrics are doomed from the start.

Honestly, what about the weave? I've had cheap silk where the threads were just too loose. Even perfect cutting just lets the whole thing unravel at the edges. Sometimes the material itself is the problem.

Yeah, but that's not really the silk's fault, it's usually the tool or how you're cutting. If you're using normal scissors or a dull blade, it's gonna pull the threads and make a huge mess. You need super sharp fabric shears and don't move the material while you cut. I learned the hard way making a lining, it looked like a cat got to it before I got proper scissors.
