Can we talk about using recycled plastic bottles for a structured jacket?

I fused 50 plastic bottles into a stiff fabric panel for a blazer, but after one wear in Chicago humidity, the whole thing warped and creaked like a haunted house, so has anyone found a sealant that actually works for upcycled plastics?

That "warped and creaked" part is why I'd never trust plastic as a main fabric.

Switched to a waxed canvas shell for my rain gear last year. The plastic stuff always felt flimsy and got clammy. This holds up way better in actual weather.

Had a buddy try that boat epoxy resin on a plastic bottle backpack frame once. It locked the shape in solid, but man did it add some serious weight to the whole thing. Might be worth testing on a scrap piece first.
