Tried a new hoof boot for a rehab horse... ended up with a nasty rub
I put a pair of Easyboot Clouds on a mare last week for some barefoot transition time, and within 3 days she had a raw spot above the coronet band. The sizing chart said medium but I should have gone large and added a pad... anyone else deal with fit issues on those?

Ugh yeah I had the same issue with Clouds, go up a size and use a baby pad.

That exact spot above the coronet band is a pain, I dealt with it on my OTTB last fall. Those Easyboot Clouds run SMALL for sure, I had to go up a full size and add a 6mm pad before she stopped getting those rubs. Also try putting a thin sock over her hoof before you slide the boot on, it helps the boot move instead of digging in. If you already have the rub, some desitin or zinc cream will dry it out fast but keep her stalled until it scabs over or the boot will just rub it raw again.
