The old mare's hooves went from cracked to solid in 6 weeks
I had this 14-year-old Arabian mare with hooves so brittle they'd chip just walking on gravel. Started her on a biotin supplement and switched to barefoot trimming every 4 weeks instead of 6. Anyone else see big improvements just from shortening the trim cycle?

Oh wow, I had almost the exact same thing happen with my mustang cross last year! Shortening the trim cycle was the game changer for us too, her feet stopped chipping and actually started holding a decent shape. I also added some good quality alfalfa hay to her diet for the extra protein and minerals, which I think gave the biotin a boost. It took a solid 8 weeks before I noticed her hooves were way less bendy and more like normal solid hoof again. Stick with it because that consistent schedule makes all the difference.

Respectfully, "a solid 8 weeks" seems too fast for real hoof change, that's just the outer wall growing out.
