Spent $1800 on a hydraulic hoof trimming table last spring. It's the best money I've ever wasted.
I know, I know, a lot of you guys are purists who think everything should be done on the hoof stand. I was too. But my back was killing me after a full day of draft horses, so I bit the bullet. Got the 'ProFarrier Compact' model. Setup takes an extra five minutes per horse, which adds up. And some of the more skittish animals just will not tolerate the lift mechanism, no matter how slow you go. So half the time, I'm not even using the thing I'm paying off. But for the right, calm giant? Man, it's like a vacation. My question is, for those who have one, do you only break it out for specific cases, or did you force yourself to use it until it became your normal routine?

My uncle runs a small farm and he has that EXACT model. He only uses it for his two oldest, calmest Percherons. Says it's not worth the fight with the younger ones.

Wait, he uses it on PERCHERONS? @jana_ellis95 that's wild, those are huge horses.

No kidding! My cousin tried one on her draft cross and it was a total disaster. Some horses just really hate that design.
