Remember when everyone was pushing those new composite pads?

I dropped about $300 on a full set of 'Flexi-Grip' pads back in 2015, convinced they were the future. Used them on a tough draft horse up in Spokane and they cracked clean through after two weeks... total waste. What's the longest a newfangled product has actually lasted for you guys?

Stuck with my old leather ones and they're still going strong.

Wyatt_shah85 is right about the synthetic girths, that whole "no-slip" promise was a joke. It's like companies keep trying to fix things that aren't broken. My worst was a set of those quick-clip reins that were supposed to save time. The plastic buckle snapped during a lesson, and I nearly lost the reins completely. Just give me plain leather and cotton that's been tested for decades.

I was all in on those new synthetic girths a few years back. Bought a fancy one that promised no rub and better fit. My mare seemed fine with it at first, but it started slipping badly on a hill climb. Went back to my simple cotton one and haven't had a single issue since. Sometimes the old ways are just more reliable.
