Hit 100 jars of homemade jam last weekend and I'm still recovering

I started canning as a hobby back in June, and last Saturday I cracked open my notebook to find I had exactly 100 jars of strawberry rhubarb jam sitting in my pantry. My husband walked in and asked if we were opening a store out of our kitchen in Portland or just hoarding for the apocalypse. Has anyone else accidentally hit a crazy number with their preserves without planning it?

My great aunt used to say a full pantry meant you'd never go hungry, and she would know because she lived through the depression. She canned everything from pickled beets to apple butter, and I think she would've been proud of my 100 jars. I actually read that the average household goes through about 20 jars of jam a year, so you're set for like five years at least. Your husband might have a point about the apocalypse though, strawberry rhubarb is a pretty good flavor for the end times.

Did you at least label them or is it a surprise every time you open the pantry? That's the kind of energy I respect for someone who clearly decided the zombie apocalypse was strawberry rhubarb flavored.
