Watched a lady at the DMV in Cleveland use a binder clip to hold her phone on the counter

I was waiting for my number to be called and this woman pulled out a binder clip, clipped it to the edge of the counter, and slid her phone into the metal loop part. She was watching a tutorial hands-free while filling out her form. I asked her about it and she said she uses them everywhere, like clipping her charger cord to her nightstand so it doesn't fall behind. Has anyone else tried something random like that to prop up their phone?

Treat it like a tiny table clamp and it works way better than you'd think. Just make sure to flip the little handles so they don't snag on anything while it's closed.
