Update: my old trick for keeping a shower curtain liner clean
Three years back, I got tired of the pink mold on my plastic liner and threw it in the washing machine with two old towels and a cup of vinegar. It came out looking new and I've done it every few months since. Anyone else have a better way to handle those things without buying a new one all the time?

My 2010 apartment taught me bleach spray works in a pinch, but your washing machine trick is smarter.

Bleach spray can ruin so many fabrics though, it's a risky move. The washing machine method is way more controlled and less likely to cause damage. I've seen bleach eat through colors and leave weird splotchy marks. Give me the appliance hack any day, it's just safer for your stuff.
