Went to a spa in Portland that used ice globes on my face

I had a facial at Pearl Spa in Portland last weekend and the esthetician pulled out these frozen glass globes. She rolled them all over my face for about 10 minutes and it felt amazing. My puffiness was gone and my skin looked tighter for almost 2 days after. Has anyone tried using ice globes on clients or is this just a gimmick?

Pearl Spa is legit, I've used ice globes at home with ice water and it works just as good.

...and I read somewhere that those ice globes can actually bruise your skin if you're not careful with them, @luna589. I remember seeing a thing about how the temperature shock is different when you use plain ice water versus the controlled temp of spa tools. My cousin tried the at-home thing with frozen spoons and said it left her face all red and blotchy for hours. I guess there's a reason places like Pearl Spa use specific equipment and not just whatever's in the freezer.
