Picked the cheap facial steamer over the fancy one. No regrets so far.
I was debating between a $60 steamer from Amazon and a $200 one from a pro supply shop. I went with the cheap one because I needed new spatulas too and my budget was tight. After 3 months of daily use, it still works fine and doesn't clog up like some reviews said. Anybody else find that mid-range gear does the job just as well?

also you gotta be careful with the cheap ones cause sometimes they spit out hot water instead of steam if you tilt em wrong. i learned that the hard way with my first cheap steamer when i was leaning over the sink and got a little burn on my chin. but honestly if yours has been going strong for 3 months thats solid. most of those cheaper ones either crap out or start leaking by month two. the real difference is probably the motor and build quality but if you treat it right the cheap one can last just as long. i think people overpay for the brand name when the actual steam technology is basically the same. long as the mist is fine and it doesnt overheat you're golden.

Oh totally, I had the same thing happen with mine! It shot a little hot water at my neck once when I tilted it back too far, definitely learned to keep it straight after that.

Saw a girl at a nail salon once tilt her steamer way back and it shot a stream of warm water right into the coffee cup sitting next to her elbow, splashed it all over the manicure table... she just sat there staring at the mess with her steamer still hissing steam everywhere. I think about that every time I use mine, keep it straight like a soldier now.
