My mentor told me to stop using a 30% glycolic acid peel on oily skin and I thought she was wrong
Honestly, I argued with my mentor at the Austin clinic for weeks, insisting my clients with oily skin could handle the strong peel for texture. Tbh, after using it on three clients, I saw way more irritation and rebound oiliness than results. Ngl, she was totally right about starting with a gentler 20% mandelic acid formula instead. Has anyone else had to backtrack on a product they were sure about?

I mean, been there with a vitamin C serum, it's so humbling.

My retinol purge was way worse than I ever told my clients.

Honestly, that retinol purge talk hits different. Tried a new sunscreen last summer that made my face look like a pizza for a solid month. Ngl, it was so bad I just told people I had a weird rash from gardening. Makes you realize how much we hide the ugly parts of trying new stuff.
