I thought those little facial ice globes were just a TikTok trend

A client brought one to her appointment last week, a pink one she got for like $15 online, and asked if we could use it during her facial. I was pretty sure it was just a gimmick, but I figured why not try. We used it after extractions on her T-zone, and I was shocked at how fast the redness went down, way faster than my usual cool cloth method. Her pores looked tighter too, and she said it felt amazing. I've used it on three more clients since then with the same good results, especially for sensitive skin types. I still think some of the wild claims online are over the top, but for basic calming and reducing redness fast, it actually works. Has anyone else tried these and found a good way to clean them between clients?

Just boil them for a minute.

Yeah, a full minute is too long unless you want them really soft. I do about 30 seconds for a quick blanch, then straight into ice water. Stops the cooking and keeps that bright green color.
