Hot take: I think the 60-minute facial is a rip-off for clients

My mentor at the school in Portland told me that anything under 90 minutes isn't really a facial, it's just face washing with extras. I used to push 60-minute bookings hard because they fit more clients in my day. But last month I had a regular who kept complaining her skin looked the same after coming weekly for 3 months. When I finally did a full 90 minute session with extra extraction time and a longer mask, she saw real change in 2 weeks. Now I only offer 60 minutes for basic maintenance and I feel bad for all those clients I rushed before. Anyone else switch their service lengths and notice a big difference?

My esthetician in Denver did the same thing to me for like 4 months before I realized it. The 60 minute ones just feel like a tease now, the real magic happens when you take your time on extractions and let a mask sit longer. Did you lose a lot of clients when you switched it up?

Not sure I buy that the extra time makes that much difference. A good esthetician can get the job done in 60 minutes just fine.
