Rant: Dropped $400 on a diagnostic tablet and it's already paid off
Bought a used Otis GCB tablet last month for $400 off a buddy. Saved me three hours of digging through a stuck door lock today. Anyone else find specific tools that just make your day way easier?

Did you have to name the tablet after a car company to make it work?

My 2017 Ford F-150 had the SYNC 3 system in it and honestly, naming it after the car company made total sense to me. The tablet (or whatever they call the screen) worked perfectly with the car's existing controls, no extra fussing with Bluetooth every time I got in. I just tapped the Ford icon on the screen and it pulled up my contacts and maps without any lag, which was way better than my old car's setup that needed a separate mount. The brand name on it made me trust it more because I knew it was built specifically for that truck, not some generic thing that might glitch out halfway through a trip.

Jumping off what Patricia said, having a tool that's built specifically for the job instead of some generic fix makes a huge difference in how fast and reliable it is. The tablet saved me time because it connected directly to the door lock system without needing a bunch of adapters or extra steps. It's honestly a game changer when you get something that just works out of the box for what you need it for.
