Hit 5000 rescues without a callback and it caught me off guard

I was looking through my logbook the other day and realized I just passed 5000 elevator rescues without a single callback for a mistake on my end. That includes all the tricky stuff like hydraulic releases and AC drive rescues in Kansas City over the last 8 years. It surprised me because I remember being so nervous my first year every time I had to do a manual lowering. The milestone matters because it shows all the little safety checks I do really add up over time. Has anyone else kept a tally of something like this or am I just weird with my logbooks?

That caught me off guard" - yeah, I bet. I never kept a logbook that detailed but I remember my first manual lowering on a old Dover in downtown Chicago. The thing was a tank, took forever to get the pressure right and I was sweating bullets. I toasted a bacon wrapped hot dog from a cart outside after just to calm my nerves. Those safety checks you do are the real deal, they're what keep you from being the guy who gets a callback for a bad bleed down. I'd say you earned that milestone.

Whoa wait you toasted a bacon wrapped hot dog from a cart outside after? That's wild. Ngl I always thought those carts were sketchy but now I'm kinda curious if they hit the spot after a tense job like that. I've never had the guts to try one but maybe I'm missing out.
