I laughed at ultrasonic cleaners until I cleaned my own circuit boards

Figured they were just overpriced toys for hobbyists, but after soaking a filthy motherboard from a 2010 receiver in one for 10 minutes it came out looking factory new. Anyone else have a tool they dismissed for years before finally trying?

Wait, has anyone tried one of those on old game cartridges with corroded pins? I spent an hour scrubbing a copy of Chrono Trigger with alcohol and a q-tip and still couldn't get it to work lol.

Tried it on a busted copy of Mega Man X. The eraser trick actually helped more than alcohol on some of the really crusty pins. Just gotta be gentle and not scrub too hard or you'll strip the gold plating.
