Could that price actually be a fair deal for a total liquid damage repair on a 2019 Pro? The logic board alone is likely fried and needs a full replacement, which is a huge part of the machine's cost. Walking away might just mean they realized it's totaled.

Yeah, the_michael has a point about it being totaled. I once tried to fix a water-logged laptop myself, ended up with a fancy paperweight and a sad credit card bill. That logic board replacement cost is no joke, basically like buying half a new machine. Sometimes walking away is the smart move, even if it feels like giving up. Reminds me of my friend who paid almost that much to fix a similar spill. He got it back and the keyboard never worked right again, which kind of proves @the_michael's point about it being a lost cause sometimes. Felt bad for him.
