Can we talk about how everyone says you need a $500 thermal camera for board-level repair
I was fixing a vintage Marantz receiver in my garage last month and found a shorted transistor by just using a $20 IR thermometer and a can of freeze spray, which saved the client over $300 on the repair bill.

cameron963 probably has a story about that one transistor that fought back. I'd be the guy who replaces it and then realizes the soldering iron is still plugged into the wrong outlet.
