That time I stopped stripping wires with my teeth on a job in Phoenix

I used to think stripping wires with my teeth was no big deal, saved me a trip to my pouch (lazy, I know). Then a foreman walked by and told me I was wrecking my enamel and risking copper poisoning, not to mention cutting my lip on a bad strip. I switched to a proper Klein stripper after that day, and I haven't looked back. Has anyone else had a bad habit like this that took getting called out to change?

Oh man, I used to be the exact same way with my teeth and thought it was totally fine. I figured copper was a soft metal so it couldnt hurt me, and I was just being lazy too. But reading this post and amy975's comment actually made me stop and really think about it. I never considered copper poisoning could be a real risk from tiny bits getting in your mouth day after day. Plus the enamel damage thing is obvious now but I just never connected the dots. Honestly this is one of those things where you think you know better but you really dont until someone spells it out for you.

Never really thought about the copper poisoning angle, but that makes total sense now.
