That old master electrician who showed me how to strip wire without nicking the copper
Worked a job in Austin last summer with a guy who had 40 years in the trade. He took my strippers and just one-handed a perfect strip on a 12 gauge in half a second. How come nobody teaches that trick in trade school?

Had a buddy learn that from an old timer on a commercial site. Said the guy just flicked his wrist and it was done, no marks on the copper at all. Took him weeks to get even close to consistent.

Wait, your buddy said that old timer could pull that trick off with zero marks on the copper at all? That sounds like pure magic, I've seen guys try that and they always leave a little scratch or dent no matter how careful they are. I guess after 40 years of bending pipe every day you just get that muscle memory, but still, that's wild to hear about.
