Saw a really clean panel install at a brewery in Asheville

I was at a new craft brewery downtown and asked to see their electrical room. The main panel was labeled perfectly, with every circuit color coded and numbered. They even had a laminated diagram taped to the inside of the door. The electrician told me they spent two full days just on the labeling. Has anyone else seen a setup that organized?

Oh man, that's the dream. I mean, I've tried the laminated diagram thing before, but the real trick is using those plastic sleeve labels on the wires themselves. The paper ones just fall off or fade after a few years near any kind of moisture.

Laminated diagrams are a good start, but you're right about the sleeves. My uncle labeled his whole basement workshop with those plastic ones, and they lasted through a flood. The real problem came when his cat chewed through half the wires anyway, labels and all. All that work just became a colorful snack. It taught me that sometimes the critters are the real weak point in any system.

Watched a buddy spend a whole weekend putting those plastic sleeves on his home theater wires. His toddler found them a year later and just started peeling every single one off like stickers. Proved that no label survives a determined two-year-old.
