Our local Piggly Wiggly ran out of shopping carts last Saturday and it threw the whole store into chaos

Had to carry a basket with a broken handle for 20 minutes because some lady decided her two items needed a full sized cart that she abandoned in the bread aisle, has anyone else seen stores just not have enough carts on busy days?

Oh, I've been in that same sort of pickle before. It was at a Walmart a few years back, and the cart shortage was so bad that people started taking carts from the parking lot before they even got inside the store. I ended up just giving up and using a flatbed cart for a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread, feeling like a total fool the whole time.

Oh man, @harper_owens that Walmart story is wild! I used to think flatbed carts were ONLY for big stuff like lumber or furniture, you know? But after seeing how bad it gets sometimes, I get it. I had a moment at Target where all the regular carts were gone and I grabbed one of those tiny three-tier carts meant for breakable stuff. Felt like such a dork pushing that little thing around with just a bag of chips and a bottle of soda. It really changed my mind about judging people who grab whatever cart they can find in a pinch.
