Can we talk about taping inside corners with a banjo?

I tried using a banjo for inside corners on a 2,000 sq ft basement job last month in Denver and it just kept bunching up on me. Switched back to hand taping after losing an hour cleaning mud off the tool. Any tips for getting the banjo to work smooth on those tight 90 degree angles?

Funny, I actually had the opposite experience. Once I figured out the tension adjustment on the banjo, inside corners became way faster for me than hand taping. Maybe it's just me but I think most people give up on the tool too quick without really dialing it in. That first hour of frustration is rough though, I'll give you that. But if you stick with it and practice on some scrap drywall first, the payoff is pretty solid for big jobs like a basement.

A buddy of mine tried doing his whole basement with a banjo after watching some YouTube videos. @smith.ray you nailed it about that first hour being rough, he almost threw the thing across the room. He stuck with it though, practiced on some scraps in his garage for a couple evenings, and by the time he got to the real walls he was flying through those inside corners. Saved himself a ton of time compared to when he did his laundry room by hand the year before.
