Watched a guy on the Mississippi River clear a clog with a fire hose
Saw this last fall near Baton Rouge when my cutterhead got jammed on some old cable. He just blasted it loose in 10 minutes while I'd been messing with a pry bar for an hour. Has anyone else tried that trick on a stubborn intake?

That 10 minute fix with the fire hose sounds pretty slick, but I gotta ask - did he end up flooding the whole damn boat deck or was he actually careful with it? Seems like that kind of pressure would just turn the mess into a bigger problem if you're not paying attention.

Man, I used to think a fire hose was overkill for that kind of thing but @phoenixa64 watching him handle it totally changed my mind. He was actually real careful and kept the spray tight, so the deck stayed mostly dry.
