Spent $400 on a dredge pump gauge kit, blew out twice in one week

I figured a fancy pressure gauge setup would save me guesswork on the suction line, but the fittings kept cracking under load. First blowout happened Tuesday morning, second one Thursday afternoon, and I was down half a shift rinsing mud out of the engine bay. The old analog gauge I replaced never gave me trouble in eight years, so I'm back to running blind with a listening stick. Anyone else had bad luck with the digital readout packages, or did I just get a dud batch?

Those pulse dampeners are the real culprit usually, the cheap ones don't smooth out the shock from the pump and it hammers the gauge into pieces. Check what yours is rated for before you blame the whole kit.
