Lost 60 bucks on a cheap swing meter that couldn't handle real slurry

I bought one of those $60 flow meters off Amazon last spring to check my slurry mix density. Worked fine for the first week on clean water, but as soon as I ran actual sandy dredge spoil through it, the rotor jammed up and it gave me garbage readings. By the time I realized it was shot, I had already wasted three days of production guessing my mix ratios. Has anyone else gotten burned by cheap inline meters on a cutter suction dredge?

Yeah that is basically everything now, cheap stuff breaks the second you actually push it.

Hate when that happens. Picked up a drill from a big box store last month thinking it would handle some basic shelving work. Thing smoked out on the third hole. Like really, the motor just gave up. I get that prices are up on everything but I'd rather pay a bit more upfront than toss another hunk of plastic in a landfill. Feels like they build them to die right after the return window closes.
