Finally got the suction line on the 'Mighty Mite' dredge to clear a 6-inch clog without shutting down.
Tried a quick reverse pulse on the pump at half throttle, and it actually worked without blowing a gasket. Anyone have a better trick for keeping the intake clear in heavy silt?

Quick reverse pulse" sounds like a good way to stress the pump seals.

Quick reverse pulse" sounds like my approach to most projects.

Honestly that's just how you fix most things these days, a quick jolt in the opposite direction. My old truck's starter only works if I tap it with a hammer while turning the key. It's all about finding that little shock to the system that gets things moving again without a full breakdown. We're just keeping worn out gear running on clever tricks instead of proper fixes. Your pump pulse is the same idea, a smart hack for when you can't afford to stop.
