The stair railing I finished last month vs the one I did in 2019

I pulled up photos from my first railing job in Boise - wobbly joints, uneven gaps, the whole mess. Last month's job in Nampa used a $20 jig I built myself and the difference is night and day. Anybody else keep old pictures just to see how far you've come?

You mentioned the $20 jig you built yourself - what was the main thing that jig fixed that you were struggling with before? I always wonder if it's worth taking the time to build your own tools.

Custom tools always teach you more about the problem than store bought ones do.
