That time six months back an old timer told me my lineweights were all wrong on a shop drawing

He said I was using the same pen setting for structural steel and hidden ductwork, which made the whole thing look like a mess, and now I keep three distinct lineweights on my layer palette at all times for clarity, has anyone else had some grumpy veteran save them from bad habits?

Right, because nothing says "welcome to the profession" like getting roasted over a printer setting you didn't know existed. I swear half of what I learned in my first year was just some grizzled guy with a coffee stain on his shirt telling me my layers looked like a toddler's art project. Now I have a dedicated "ghost line" pen that's barely visible, just in case that one guy from six years ago pops up again to inspect my work.

That's just the old guard initiation ritual.

My old mentor used to hide a tiny smudge of ink in the corner of every drawing so he could spot the freshman who actually checked their work. It's like they're training you to catch invisible mistakes you didn't even know existed.
