Switched from manual drafting to AutoCAD after a deadline disaster last month

Had a project due on a Friday. Got through 30 hours of hand drafting only to realize I misread a dimension on the floor plan. Had to redo two full sheets. My coworker let me use his workstation to fix it in 4 hours. Been learning AutoCAD ever since. Anyone else make the switch later in their career? How long did it take you to get comfortable?

Nothing wrong with the switch but just a heads up... AutoCAD measures in decimal units by default and that catches a lot of hand drafters off guard at first.

Oh I don't know about that. I think it really depends on what you're used to drafting. I started with architectural drafting so feet and inches are second nature to me. Decimal units always feel like I'm doing math homework instead of drawing.
