Rant: I thought my detail callouts were fine until a review in Denver
I was showing a set of shop drawings to a senior drafter named Carl at a project meeting in Denver. He pointed at a single detail and said, 'That missing tolerance note is going to cost the fabricator a day.' I used to think those small notes didn't matter, but now I check every single one. Anyone else get called out on something small that actually mattered a lot?

Ever read that book about the Mars orbiter lost because of a metric conversion error? Your story reminds me of that, where tiny oversights cause huge problems. How do you even start checking for all those little things without going crazy?

Man, that's a classic one. My buddy had a similar thing happen on a big hospital job. He missed a single note about galvanized hardware for an exterior panel. The whole shipment showed up with the wrong finish and got rejected on site. It set them back three weeks waiting for the right parts. It's wild how one line of text can hold up an entire crew.
