Pro tip: Switched from manual to digital measuring for my site plans last spring

After I messed up a boundary line on a job in Omaha by 3 feet, I bought a Disto laser measure and it cut my field time in half. Anyone else made the switch and noticed their error rate drop?

Switched to a Bosch laser two years ago after I got tired of pulling a tape across wet grass. My error rate went way down, like maybe 90 percent. The digital readout keeps me from squinting at marks on a tape that's faded from the sun. Plus it spits out square footage real quick when I need it for estimates.

Man, I feel this so hard. Last time I tried using a tape measure in my yard I tripped over a sprinkler head and ended up measuring my own face instead of the fence line. Maybe a laser wouldn't have saved me from that particular disaster, but at least I wouldn't have been squinting at faded numbers while bleeding on the grass. Plus the square footage thing is genius, my math skills are bad enough that I'd probably screw it up three times anyway. Might be time to retire the old Stanley tape before I accidentally measure a raccoon again.
