My clamps crapped out mid-glue up on a big desk job

Last Tuesday three of my four Bessey parallel clamps just gave up the ghost while I was clamping a 6-foot walnut desk top, had to scramble with pipe clamps from the truck, anyone else had a batch of these fail all at once?

Three out of four having issues sounds like my usual luck with anything DIY.

Actually looking at the numbers again it was three out of four that had problems. So you're right about that part. But I think what a lot of people miss is the clamps themselves are fine most of the time. It's the user error that gets you. Like if you don't tighten them evenly or you clamp something that's not perfectly flat they'll slip. I've been there more times than I can count. The first time I tried using those big bar clamps I ruined a whole project because I clamped too hard on one side.
