I used to think archiving old drawings was a waste of time until a client asked for a revision on a project from 3 years ago

I had no backups, no organized files, and spent two full days digging through old hard drives to find the original CAD layers. Has anyone else had a client pull an old project out of nowhere and make you scramble like that?

Used to skip archiving too but now im religious about it

Right there with you. I had a client call me out of the blue last year asking me to match a color scheme from a project I did back in 2018. I had to dig through three different external drives and an old laptop just to find the original files and even then the folders were a mess of "final_final_v3" nonsense. I spent a whole weekend just organizing everything and making backups because I never wanted to feel that panic again.
