Feels like extra steps on smaller projects to me... just slows me down. I keep finding my own weird ways to catch things before they go out.

Referring to how layer management saved your draft, I had a similar wake up call. I mean, I started color coding layers for plumbing and electrical, and it showed a conflict I overlooked. Maybe it's just me but taking that time upfront avoids bigger headaches later.
