I think hand drafting still wins over CAD for quick site surveys

Went out to a job site in Akron last week and my partner pulled out a laptop to do field measurements. Took him 20 minutes to boot up and find the right template while I had a rough sketch done in 5. Has anyone else found digital tools slow you down when you're just trying to get the layout down fast?

Oh man, you hit the nail on the head there. I waste so much time waiting for programs to load and crash halfway through a field survey. Hand drafting just flows better when you're on site and the weather's turning or you gotta pack up fast. A pencil and graph paper never need a battery charge or a software update. Honestly, most of the time the rough sketch has all the real info you need anyway, the fancy digital cleanup can happen back at the office.

@casey393 had me convinced before but you just sealed it, I was dead wrong about digital being better in the field.
