Found a trick for aligning multi-page prints that saved me an hour

I draft residential floor plans and kept having to reprint because my title block was shifting a hair between pages. A senior drafter told me to lock the viewport and use paper space layer properties instead of model space. Has anyone else run into alignment issues with large sets?

Locking viewports definitely helps but paper space layers don't fix alignment if your plot scale isn't set exactly right.

One time I spent half an hour aligning viewports for a site plan, only to realize my plot scale was set to inches instead of feet and the whole thing looked like a postage stamp on the paper. That was the day I learned the hard way that checking units before printing is like putting gas in the car before you leave the driveway.

Plot scales being off is just the universe's way of reminding us that we're all just monkeys with CAD software, honestly. I've had prints where the title block looks perfect on screen but comes out looking like it's doing the hula on paper. Maybe it's just me but I feel like paper space adds its own kind of chaos too, like when you have multiple viewports and they all decide to throw a party with different scale factors. The real trick is probably sacrificing a protractor to the drafting gods before hitting print.
